My Favourite Mac Eyeshadows

First of all i thought i would do a really obvious blog just to get into my groove!

So I am going to share with you my favourite Mac eye shadows that I’ve accumulated so far and share with you a few that are on my wish list.
What I have done is collect all my favourites together and popped them into a spare Mac palette just to show them all together so you can get an idea of what I am talking about when I am rambling on about which colours look amazing together etc!

From top to bottom, left to right:
(Sorry but i arranged them vertically for some reason, apologies)
Shroom, Dazzlelight, Brule
Grain, Retrospeck, All That Glitters
Wedge, Woodwinked, Satin Taupe
Mulch, Greensmoke, Scene
Plumage, Beauty Marked, Sushi Flower (not de-potted)

The Highlighters (Row 1):
My favourite of these three by miles is Brule; do not ask me why but that creamy matte texture wins me over almost every time I apply make-up! Compared to the other two Brule obviously has no sparkle-edge to it, so for going out looks or when i want to dress up i opt for either Dazzlelight or Shroom. But yet again these two shades have COMPLETELY different uses in my opinion, Dazzlelight I believe is more yellow than Shroom which is basically my skin tone plus shimmer. Also when applied, Dazzlelight is much more obvious than Shroom, so for a dramatic eye it is perfect, such as a moky eye for venturing out to clubs
The Browns (Rows 2,3 & Mulch on 4!)
Grain was one of the first eye shadows i purchased from Mac along with Brule and Mulch and they have all become staple favourites for me. Basically because i haven’t found any others that act as dupes for these to or out-do them on performance. Grain looks exactly like it does in the picture, it acts as a really nice lid colour for a simple everyday look so when I am in a rush to get ready, I have my staple colour that I can run back to without fail! Below that is Retrospeck, this is very much a true gold with shimmer, and what i especially love doing is putting together a brown smoky eye combined with this for a pop of colour, and it looks amazing, I may in fact do a blog post on how to accomplish that! All that glitters is another excessively shimmery eye shadow, but this has more of a copper tone than gold, so it gives off a warmer look than Retrospeck and normally i would choose All that glitters for most looks if I am being honest! 3rd Row we have Wedge which i only picked up recently, and it is absolutely beautiful which may seem really odd for me to say about a matte light brown, but it provides a perfect lid colour to accompany Satin taupe or Mulch or Woodwinked or in fact most of my brown crease colours! Then there is Satin Taupe which has quickly became my everyday crease colour, simply because it adds a pop of shimmer which draws attention to my lashes and i adore this effect! Plus it really compliments my eyes, they are green and so being in my opinion – chocolatey, it really makes them pop! And finally Mulch, oh mulch – my original love. With a reddy/purply tint to a deep brown how can you go wrong? Truly beautiful, much prettier than mud looks by a mile.
The Colours: (Row 4 cont. & 5)
First of all we have my absolute favourite green, now I only bought this quite pathetically because my best friend and I were getting our make-up done in Mac for prom and she had it in her look and i had a pink look, hence my love for Sushi Flower but I’ll get to that in a moment. Long story short, it looked amazing, so i went back the next day and picked it up, score for me! Anyway, it is truly amazing when combined with Humid maybe for a deep smoky look, overly green though but if that’s the look you’re going for, more power to you! But alas I am not brave enough to attempt that so i stick with my dash of colour in a neutral eye or over a dark smoky eye for a night out. Then there is Scene which has another funny story, I went into my Mac store thinking for some reason Scene was a navy?! A NAVY? When as you can clearly see it isn’t but instead it’s a pale blue/purple combo? But i love it just because it wasn’t what i expected but it is absolutely beautiful anyway! Then there is my favourite colour of them all, Plumage. Now i did a look the other day because i find it hard to work with Blues as i have green eyes and they normally wash me out, but i experimented with Plumage and all that glitters, and i came up with a goldy/blue look which i wore out for my 18th and it looked AMAZING if i do say so myself. They really complimented each other surprisingly so once again i may have to do a blog post on that look too! Beauty Marked, if you want a beautiful colour, then buy this one! It’s basically i believe a black shadow with dark purple shimmer, well that is what i find whenever I use it, but in the palette it looks like a deep shiny purple. But once again it looks amazing as the accent of a smoky eye! And finally Sushi Flower, my favourite ever pink which is sadly still in it’s container as i have not yet discovered how to de-pot eye shadows? I will investigate this further! This pink looks overly vibrant but infact it can be applied both pale and dramatic which is probably why i love it so much. It’s really versatile and I feel i can add it to most looks and it will just work somehow, always pulls it off that one!

I’m now Rambling, so I’ll leave it there, but I hoped you enjoyed this blog and that it was detailed enough for you!
